It's Easier to Think
I am Mark Meneses, the Miami breed.
I hum music with my words, and my fingers follow soon after.
Sometimes I whisper; sometimes I become a news anchor.
Creation, appreciation, & apprehension.
Watch my footprint gain depth in the sand.

Everything I post on here is original unless otherwise noted or cited, including poetry, images, and videos. Opinions, however, are all mine mine mine.
It's Easier to Think
"How strange it is. We have these deep terrible lingering fears about ourselves and the people we love. Yet we walk around, talk to people, eat and drink. We manage to function. The feelings are deep and real. Shouldn’t they paralyze us? How is it we can survive them, at least for a little while? We drive a car, we teach a class. How is it no one sees how deeply afraid we were, last night, this morning? Is it something we all hide from each other, by mutual consent? Or do we share the same secret without knowing it? Wear the same disguise."
Don DeLillo
Amazing concept art for the rejacket of DeLillo’s backlist by Pan Macmillan. The Hunger Artist is by far my favorite from the ones I’ve seen. Some of the others can be seen here and/or here.
"I write to find out how much I know. The act of writing for me is a concentrated form of thought. If I don’t enter that particular level of concentration, the chances are that certain ideas never reach any level of fruition."
Don DeLillo
Excerpt from Don DeLillo’s “The Body Artist” - anyone who is a fan of surrealist narratives and post-modernism should at least read the opening chapter of this novella.
